During the COVID-19 pandemic, Compass Community Church pivoted to pre-recording service and publishing online. Once in-person services resumed, this process was time-consuming and redundant, so the decision was made to switch to livestreaming services. I proposed converting the under-used library space into a multipurpose creative space, and led the renovation and audiovisual integration efforts.
The Studio featured a versatile video recording space with multiple backdrops, in the middle was a flex workspace with movable sit/stand desks for Creative Team staff, and the other side was a livestream control control room with stations for graphics, broadcast audio, and video switching/camera control. The ceiling was fitted with two layers of soundproofing to separate it from the kid's activity spaces on the second floor, and acoustic dampening panels were placed around the room.
Equipment highlights: Allen & Heath SQ6 (broadcast mixer) and AR84 expansion, Dante audio network, BlackMagic Design ATEM 2ME Production Studio, Smart VideoHub 20x20, UltraStudio HD Mini, MultiView 4K, RESI RAY and PRISM Encoders, Canon camcorders + MultiCamZilla PTZ controls (legacy system).
Screen recording of visuals used in presentations to staff and board. The dynamic visuals greatly helped increase buy-in and drive engagement in the project.
